Last week one of our brilliant partners, Accountants on London, hosted Biz in the Cloud at the Claudelands Event Centre in Hamilton, New Zealand. With over two hundred attendees, there was a great buzz in the room. People from the Waikato region are clearly keen to learn more about getting online and the business benefits that it offers – they’re realising that time is of the essence to maximise the competitive advantage.

The effort Accountants on London Directors, Alison Nation and Jane Evans, put into the event is testament to their belief that it’s important for businesses to embrace technology to enhance the way they work. Speaking about the core philosophies of Accountants on London, they emphasised that strong relationships make for strong business and that trust between accountants and clients is incredibly important. One of the ways they facilitate this is by adopting a business model that provides transparency with set costs for their services.

Xero CEO, Rod Drury, spoke about one of the first events he’d presented at with just “three relatives in the room,” adding that it was great to see such a fantastic turnout with people becoming increasingly passionate about the cloud. Rod stated that frequent upgrades based on customer feedback are an integral feature of decent cloud-based software, and that the new distribution models benefitted businesses adopting the software. He described the cloud as “smart people building software that updates all the time, and the servers do the work. It’s designed to save time and money.”

The event wrapped up with some short and sharp presentations from: Unleashed, Xero, Debtor Daddy, iPayroll, Lightspeed, Rocketspark, and GeoOp. We love that businesses of all sizes can cherry-pick the best cloud-based applications to create a component solution tailored to their specific needs. And that there are great accounting practices that are proactively learning about the solutions to provide their clients with the best service and recommendations.

It’s always great to get out and meet our fantastic Unleashed partners. Well done to Accountants on London for putting together such a popular and informative event.
