Based in Auckland, New Zealand, Kerrin Harrison runs Pegasus Group, who import sporting goods from China for distribution around New Zealand to well know retail outlets like The Warehouse, Farmers and Toyworld. This includes drop ship deliveries direct to customer by the container load but orders are primarily fulfilled from their own warehouse. Annually Pegasus complete hundreds of purchases and thousands of sales. Prior to making the software transition to an Unleashed / Xero combo last year, Pegasus used Attache software to run their business. This was supplemented with dozens of spreadsheets to manage their warehouse, forecasting, quotes and shipping.
"We were continually facing challenges to get the correct stock out of China down to NZ in time for committed sales. We also struggled to keep track of stock in our warehouse which required a lot of resource to run, especially due to the many manual spreadsheets. We were over-stocked and our inventory accuracy was very poor."
Kerrin researched software options at length and made the decision to use Unleashed and Xero primarily due to having online access globally but also saw it as a great platform to create better processes on to remove the manual, non-integrated components from his business. The software cost was also far less than other options which was a bonus.
"Although I was a little fearful of how a component type solution would work for me the integration between Unleashed and Xero is great. Once we had everybody trained and on board with the new solution the business took a good change for the better."
Kerrin has been running with Unleashed and Xero for over a year now and is extremely happy with the decision.
